Phosphate-free liquid sequestering agent for swimming pools, based on EDTA. It keeps iron, copper, and calcium dissolved in the water to prevent them from staining the walls or coloring the water, and limits scale in piping and heating equipment. Highly recommended by the manufacturer when filling a pool, it is then used in small doses each week. Available in 1 L and 3.6 L.

Pour this product alone, directly into the pool. Never mix it with another product, neither in a bucket nor in the skimmer: the mixture releases dangerous fumes. Wait until the filtration has thoroughly dispersed it before adding anything else.

Protect your eyes. The concentrated product is very alkaline and can cause serious eye damage. Wear gloves and goggles when pouring it.

When to use it

Filling or new pool	The manufacturer strongly recommends it during filling, before the metals in the new water have time to settle.
Well water or loaded water	Water rich in iron, copper, or very hard water requires a doubled initial dose (see dosage).
Before a shock treatment	If the water contains metals, add it before chlorinating to prevent the water from changing color.
After a stain remover	Metals removed from the walls are back in the water. Before increasing the chlorine, add the initial dose for loaded water (240 mL per 10,000 L), then resume maintenance.
Opening and closing	The manufacturer includes it in their pool opening and closing kits.
Seasonal maintenance	One dose every week, from the beginning to the end of the swimming season.

10,000 L is equivalent to approximately 2,200 imperial gallons. These values reflect the instructions on the label; in case of discrepancy, the label on your container is the reference.

How to use it

1. Know your water	Have the hardness tested and, if possible, the iron and copper levels. This determines the initial dose.
2. Measure the dose	Calculate the quantity according to the pool volume, using the table above.
3. Pour, with filtration running	Pour the product as is into the pool, towards the center or in front of a water return.
4. Let it circulate	Wait at least 30 minutes of filtration before adding another product, such as a shock chlorine.
5. Maintain weekly	Add the maintenance dose once a week throughout the season.

Precautions and storage

Never mix	With another chemical product, especially chlorine, acid, or a shock product. The mixture releases dangerous fumes.
Protection	Gloves and safety goggles. Avoid contact with skin and clothing, and do not breathe vapors.
Eye contact	Rinse immediately and thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes, removing lenses if possible. Call the Quebec Poison Control Center at 1 800 463-5060 or a doctor immediately.
Ingestion or skin contact	If swallowed, rinse mouth, do not induce vomiting, and call the Poison Control Center immediately. If on skin, remove affected clothing and rinse thoroughly with water.
Freeze-sensitive	Store between 10 and 45 °C, in the original tightly closed container. Do not let it spend the winter in an unheated shed.
Keep out of reach	Keep out of reach of children and animals, ideally under lock and key.
Environment	Harmful to aquatic life: do not dispose of the product in a sewer, ditch, or watercourse.

Frequently asked questions

Does it remove stains that are already present?It can mitigate colored water or light stains, but its role is primarily preventive. For stubborn stains, remove them first with Stain Out (widespread stains) or Stain Erase (localized stain), then add Cop-Out at the dose for loaded water (240 mL per 10,000 L) before increasing the chlorine.

Which size to choose?In normal water, count on about 600 mL per 10,000 L for a 16-week season, including the initial dose. The 1 L therefore covers the season for a pool of about 15,000 L, or the initial dose of a larger one. The 3.6 L covers the season up to about 60,000 L (50,000 L in loaded water). Beyond that, plan for a second container.

My pool is filled with well water. Should I use more?Often, yes. Well water frequently contains iron. If the iron or copper exceeds 0.1 ppm, or hardness exceeds 200 ppm, use the initial dose of 240 mL per 10,000 L, then normal maintenance. In case of black or purple stains (manganese), write to us.

Is it compatible with a salt pool?The label does not forbid it, but does not mention it either. There are sequestering agents designed for saltwater, which also protect the electrolyzer cell. Write to us before choosing.

Can I use it in a spa?This product is labeled for pools and its dosage is calculated for large volumes of water. For a spa, write to us: we will indicate the right product for you.

Can I keep the jug in the shed for the winter?No. The product is sensitive to freezing. Bring it inside to a temperate area, between 10 and 45 °C, until opening.
