AFI's closing service is carried out according to strict procedures to protect the integrity of your fiberglass pool or spa during the Quebec winter period.
Our service includes:
The safe shutdown of the filtration system and related equipment
Protection of pipes against freezing using appropriate accessories
Lowering the water level below the skimmers and returns — carried out by our technician
Necessary operations to reduce risks related to freezing, groundwater pressure, and soil movement
A general visual check to ensure that conditions are adequate at the time of closing
💰 Pricing
Closing package: $250 — pool or spa, single price. Taxes (GST/QST) extra.
Winterizing plugs: $10 / unit, if required. Plugs are not included in the package. Most of our customers already have their own — in this case, simply make them accessible on the day of service, no charges apply. If you do not have them, AFI will provide them and bill them at the actual cost observed on site.
⚠️ Important — water level
Do not adjust the water level yourself. A fiberglass shell should never be emptied: it risks deforming under groundwater pressure. Our technician lowers the level to the correct point as part of the package.
What remains your responsibility:
Monitoring the dewatering well (shell drain) all winter — critical for a fiberglass pool
Installation of the winter cover / tarp after the technician's visit
Winterizing plugs made accessible on the day of service, if you have them
Clear access to the pool and equipment
Compliance with these instructions is essential to maintain the AFI warranty and avoid any structural damage.
Our team applies the best practices recognized in the industry to ensure a safe, efficient, and manufacturer-compliant closing.
